Sociedad de la Vihuela, Lute, & Guitar

La Sociedad de la Vihuela, el Laúd y la Guitarra (SDLV) is a Spanish cultural association founded in 2004, and is dedicated to the study, promotion, and preservation of historical plucked string instruments, especially the Renaissance vihuela, lute, theorbo, and Baroque guitar. Through research, performance, and educational outreach, the society fosters a deeper understanding of these instruments and their repertoire. SDLV welcomes collaboration from all who share an interest in this field.
On display will be tablature collections for a variety of plucked-string instruments—vihuela, lute, and guitar. Of course, the online store is always open if you are unable to attend the Exhibition. Shipping anywhere in the USA is quite prompt. Lars will enjoy discussing everything the Society has to offer with visitors at the BFX table.
The Society de la Vihuela serves as a hub for performers, musicologists, and instrument builders, publishes the academic journal Hispanica Lyra, books and musical editions. It also provides members with a newsletter and online directories detailing new releases, scores, and cultural events.
