A multi-choir pop-up performance

June 12 & 13 | Berkeley

This multi-choir project takes on the rarely-performed “Spem in Alium” (Latin for "Hope in any other") by Thomas Tallis (c. 1505–1585), composed c. 1570. A spectacular motet with eight five-part choruses results in forty distinct lines. Experience this sonic wonder with multiple pop-up up performances taking place:

  • Friday, June 12, 7 PM, First Church Berkeley (Pre-concert event for Musica Pacifica ticket holders only)

  • Saturday, June 13, 12:30 PM, First Church Berkeley, Unity Hall Patio at the Exhibition (Free & open to the public)

  • Saturday, June 13, 1:00 PM, St Mark’s Episcopal Church in Berkeley (Pre-concert event for Melody of China ticket holders only)
